Now, she is working towards completing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/math-program\" aria-label=\"Kumon Math Program\">Kumon Math Program<\/a> as well. It\u2019s no surprise that Impa is ahead of her peers in school, while she\u2019s already studying the introduction of calculus in the 7<sup>th<\/sup> grade.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-6418\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Impa_3-216x300.jpg\" alt=\"Impa with her Instructor, Farheen\" width=\"216\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Impa_3-216x300.jpg 216w, https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Impa_3.jpg 692w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 216px) 100vw, 216px\" \/>\u201cWorking on challenging material in Kumon makes me realize how important grit and dedication are,\u201d said Impa. \u201cI feel so proud and satisfied with myself every time I think back to those moments. I now know that the hardest mountain is the best one to conquer!\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<p>Wow, inspiring words from such a young girl. Impa\u2019s tenacity and work ethic will be key factors in helping her achieve her dreams of one day becoming a diplomat.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<p>Outside of the classroom, Impa maintains an active lifestyle by participating in competitive volleyball, swimming, dance, and hiking \u2013 just to name a few. She is proud to say that she was the only student selected from her school to be a part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.envisionexperience.com\/explore-our-programs\/national-youth-leadership-forum-explore-stem\" aria-label=\"Envision\">Envision<\/a>. This prestigious STEM Program seeks bright students from across the country for the opportunity to not only work towards their future success, but to also get a real hands-on STEM experience. Members of the program work on projects that mirror real-world challenges, and require a great level of innovation, creativity, critical thinking skills, and communication.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-6419\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Impa_2-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"Impa poses at the Student Conference\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Impa_2-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Impa_2-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Impa_2.jpg 1128w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Impa\u2019s hard work and dedication was recognized, having been one of 55 students selected to attend the 2018 Kumon Student Conference in Calgary, Canada. We had the opportunity to speak to Impa about her Kumon journey thus far.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n<h4><strong>How has Kumon helped you academically?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Kumon has helped me academically by giving me advantages in school. I recently got transferred to a new school which teaches at a level above your current grade. I am currently in 7<sup>th<\/sup> grade, however I am learning 8<sup>th<\/sup> grade level material. Thanks to Kumon, my school work feels like a breeze. I am also in the Gifted and Talented Program, which teaches me new material that\u2019s ahead of my peers.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 12px;\"><\/div>\n<h4><strong>How has Kumon helped you outside of the classroom?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-6420\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/KSC-3686-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Impa listens at the Student Conference\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/KSC-3686-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/KSC-3686-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kumon has helped me outside of the classroom by teaching me what grit and perseverance are. Because of the level of commitment that Kumon takes, I learned to never give up. I have learned that pushing forward and looking at the big picture helps me. Each day, I am striving for excellence.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 12px;\"><\/div>\n<h4><strong>What keeps you motivated in Kumon?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>At first, Kumon feels like a hurdle. At times it feels very difficult to reach, overcome, and finish. Once you\u2019ve gotten over the \u201churdle,\u201d it feels great! Knowing I already completed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/reading-program\" aria-label=\"Kumon Reading Program\">Kumon Reading Program<\/a> keeps me motivated to work through any tough levels in Math.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height: 12px;\"><\/div>\n<h4><strong>What did attending the Student Conference mean to you? <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>It was such a special moment for me, and I realized right then that the past six years were completely worth it.
