To 11-year-old Mimansa, success means accomplishing\ngoals purposely, efficiently, and at her own pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mimansa juggles multiple weekly soccer practices, ballet classes, and even uses her free time to code a mobile app. Aside from her social and personal interests, she is also passionate about her work in Kumon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat I enjoy most about Kumon is the fact that I am not held back based on others&#8217; learning capabilities. Without Kumon, I would still only be learning to divide decimals, a skill I learned four years ago,\u201d says Mimansa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mimansa is a proud Kumon Reading Program Completer and is\nworking with the same diligence to also complete the Kumon Math Program.\nBecause of her forward-thinking mindset and strong work ethic, she was invited\nto attend Kumon\u2019s 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Annual Student Conference in Chicago,\nIllinois. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI felt elated. I was proud of myself for being one of the\n56 students chosen out of countless other great students,\u201d said Mimansa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 9px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just like in Kumon, Mimansa appreciates the responsibility\nof advancing at her own pace in life. Much of what keeps her motivated to move\nforward is her future \u2013 what job she could have and how all her learnings will\ncome into fruition. To her, a successful journey is more important than the\ndestination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 15px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/eFptLG-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7689\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/eFptLG-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/eFptLG-768x1152.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is the most\nbeneficial thing you\u2019ve learned in Kumon thus far?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Kumon Method helps students learn independently. I think\nthat this method is great for grasping new concepts quickly. For example,\ninstead of someone having to lay out every part of a concept, Kumon Students\ncan piece some parts together and learn things easily. By learning with the\nKumon Method, your brain becomes accustomed to thinking for yourself. Life will\nbe easier because of your decision-making skills. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 15px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What do you want to be when you grow up?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I want to be an astrophysicist. I want to know what lies\nbeyond human reach. I want to know what the fate of the universe is and what is\ncausing everything that happens in the universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 15px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What advice would you give to kids just starting Kumon?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Motivation is key in learning. Kumon may seem like a waste\nof time and that there are countless other things you would rather be doing.\nWhen you feel like you want to stop, think about where Kumon will get you.\nKumon will help you in the future. Kumon will give a running start into the\nworld and in whatever profession you chose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 15px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who is your biggest inspiration and why?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My biggest inspiration is Stephen Hawking. Despite all the\nhardships he was forced to deal with, he still became successful. I also want\nto have a job in the field of astronomy, which he was a great part of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height: 15px;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is your favorite book and why?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My favorite book is \u201cA Midsummer\u2019s Night Dream\u201d by William\nShakespeare. This is partially because I find the way William Shakespeare wrote\nto be mesmerizing. What I particularly like the most about his work is the\nstory. I love how Hermia coped with her problem with her suitor, Demetrius and\nfather, Theseus. Lysander once said, \u201cThe course of true love never did run\nsmooth.\u201d Hermia and Lysander\u2019s hardship with love seems to be a running theme\nthroughout the play. Outside of academics, I am proud of myself for going on pointe at the age of nine. In addition, I proud of getting selected as the lead in the Mouse Doll Dance in the Nutcracker where I performed on pointe.
