It\nis important to know that Kumon is not your typical tutoring service. Kumon supplements\nwhat children are learning at school while actively developing their critical\nthinking skills. Children progress independently through a carefully crafted\nmath and reading curriculum that is individualized for their needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is Kumon\nDifferent than Tutoring?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Kumon is unlike any\nother academic program because you won\u2019t find passive instruction from teachers\nor tutors and because your kids will never find that the pace is too fast or\ntoo slow. That\u2019s because in Kumon the Instructor designs an individualized\nworksheet lesson plan and kids work at their own pace to complete each\nworksheet. As they progress through the levels of the program, kids not only\ngain the solid grasp of math and reading needed to excel academically, the\nworksheets help them develop the critical skill of self-learning\u2014the ability to\nfigure things out on their own. <\/p>\n\n\n

What does the\nKumon Math Program Cover?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

From counting to\ncalculus and beyond, the Kumon Math Program enables students to progress all\nthe way up through high school level math. Our individualized worksheet lesson\nplan allows students to develop valuable math skills, such as mental\ncalculation and how to calculate quickly and accurately. The Kumon Math Program\nkeeps kids advancing and never limits their learning. Many Kumon Students who\nstart a bit behind not only catch up, but advance to studying material ahead of\ntheir grade level. Topics covered in the program include: counting and number\nsequencing, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions,\norder of operations, positive and negative numbers, solving equations, graphs,\nalgebraic expressions, linear equations, inequalities, functions, quadratic\nequations, trigonometry and logarithms, calculus, and probability and\nstatistics. <\/p>\n\n\n

What does the Kumon Reading Program\nCover?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Kumon Reading\nProgram is designed to build the critical reading skills that help children\ndevelop a lifelong love of reading\u2014and a solid foundation for academic success.\nFrom fairy tales to Shakespeare, the Kumon Reading Program will take your child\nfrom learning letter sounds to reading high school-level literary texts. The\ngoal of the program is to help all children cultivate a high level of reading\nability, regardless of age or school grade. The worksheets in the Kumon Reading\nProgram contain excerpts of material written by award-winning authors including\nT.S. Eliot and John Steinbeck. Topics covered throughout the program include:\npre-reading skills, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation, sentence building,\nunderstanding paragraphs, reading comprehension, summary, interpretation and\ncritical reading. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
