With you in mind, we put together five steps to help\nyou and your child follow a daily routine this school year. Now more than ever,\nit is imperative to implement an effective back-to-school routine to help\nprovide consistency and productivity in your child\u2019s learning experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are five simple\nways you can implement an effective back-to-school routine.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"216\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Untitled-design-3-300x216.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Untitled-design-3-300x216.png 300w, https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Untitled-design-3-768x553.png 768w, https:\/\/www.kumon.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Untitled-design-3.png 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Set up a Sleep Routine<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is very important to have your kids on a good sleep\nschedule. A sleep routine can be particularly helpful for students who are\nstarting the school year from home, as it can help them get in the right\nmindset for school. You can start establishing your child\u2019s new sleep routine\nat least two weeks before the start of the school year for a smoother\ntransition. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sleepfoundation.org\/articles\/plan-ahead-start-back-school-bedtime-routines-now\" aria-label=\"Sleep\nFoundation\">Sleep\nFoundation<\/a>, children who don\u2019t get enough sleep can have a difficult time\nlearning. It\u2019s recommended that kids between ages six through 13 get nine to 11\nhours of sleep each night. During your nighttime routine, have your child pack\ntheir backpack, brush their teeth, and carve out some time for reading before\nthey get a restful night of sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Establish a Dedicated\nLearning Space:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With more time and opportunities for at-home learning, it is important to make sure your child feels comfortable and productive in their workspace. Set up a place that is dedicated for studying, online learning, homework, and even Kumon Worksheets. This space should be free of distractions to help maintain their focus. Toys and the television should be put away or turned off. Organize Your Week:<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time management\nwill drive productivity in your child\u2019s learning. Take some time over the\nweekend or at the beginning of the week to create a preview of what they can\nexpect to accomplish for the coming week. Be sure to include homework assignments,\ndeadlines, Kumon Worksheets to complete, extracurricular activities, family\nmeals, and fun time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Develop a Morning\nRoutine<\/strong>: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether your child\nis going to school or learning virtually, it is important to maintain a\nconsistent wake up time. By waking up early and preparing like you typically do,\nyour child is following a daily routine. Another key component of your morning\nshould include breakfast. A well-balanced breakfast can act as brain fuel for\nyour child during the school day.
