Conner, 10-years-old<\/em>, Math Level H<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the classroom to the hockey rink, Conner\u2019s confidence\nin his abilities inspires those around him. His parents enrolled him in the Kumon Math Program<\/a> four years\nago, and he has since developed into a confident, self-learner who is always\nwilling to give things a try.<\/p>\n\n\n

Once Conner discovered his own ability through the Kumon\nMethod a world of possibility was unlocked for him. By building confidence<\/a> at an early age, Kumon Students become motivated to\nreach their goals and learn to take on challenges both in and out of the\nclassroom. Conner\u2019s confidence in his own abilities can pave the way to\nacademic success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKumon has made me confident in my abilities, improved my\nmath skills, and has allowed me to help my peers in school. I am almost always\nfirst to raise my hand to answer math questions in school. Kumon has helped me\nget well ahead in math. My teacher often asks me to lead in helping others with\ntheir math homework,\u201d said Conner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Kumon Method has given me the independence to complete my math work on my own.  In the beginning, I would always run to my dad to ask for help on solving problems. Now, I can try any problem on my own.  Kumon has helped me advance at my own pace. I am not only learning what is in school, but I am also learning three years ahead of my peers, which is exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

Conner\u2019s confidence and success in school have opened many doors for various opportunities. His peers look up to him and are inspired by his motivation \u2013 leading him to be elected for his school\u2019s student council. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he was in the third grade, Conner was one of two\nwinners in a school essay contest. Still to this day, he is proud of this\naccomplishment, as he had the opportunity to have lunch with children\u2019s fiction\nauthor, Dan Gutman<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conner\u2019s accomplishments don\u2019t stop there. He was one of 155\nstudents from Canada, USA and Mexico who attended the Virtual Kumon Student Conference.\nThe students had the opportunity to be inspired and motivated by Kumon\nAmbassadors, former top Kumon Students who are now excelling in their careers\nand extracurricular pursuits.  They also\nmet each other in virtual breakout rooms and engaged in a discussion about\nmethods of teaching. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conner shares with us his advice for kids just starting\nKumon and his secret to staying motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s the most\nbeneficial thing you\u2019ve learned in Kumon thus far?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When I first enrolled in the Kumon Math Program<\/a>, I was\nstruggling with multiplication. Kumon helped me improve a lot of my math\nskills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What advice would you\ngive to kids just starting Kumon? <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It might be hard in the beginning, but don’t give up. Good\nthings will come from all of your hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is your biggest\ninspiration and why?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I’m inspired by my mom and dad because they both work hard\nand always make good things happen. <\/p>\n\n\n

What do you want to\nbe when you grow up?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

My goal is to become a robotics engineer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you continue to stay motivated in Kumon even when\nwork becomes challenging?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

\n \n \nI stay motivated because I want to go\nto a good college, like Princeton, and Kumon is helping me work towards this\ngoal. Also, I stay motivated because I have to live up to my older sister\u2019s\nlegacy! I try to beat her at everything. She is also very smart and is a great\nstudent. Why you ask? Well, that’s just how siblings are \u2014competitive! <\/p>\n\n\n

What is your favorite book and why?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Blood of Olympus<\/em> by Rick Riordan. This book is\nfilled with action and introduces me to Greek mythology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you could sum up\nyour Kumon experience in one word, what would it be?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
