Hello! My name is Sanjit Kaur, and I am the Instructor at both Kumon of Kanata North & Kumon of Ottawa - The Glebe centers.
I have been an Instructor since 2006. It has been my pleasure to work with over 2000 children in the last 18 years.
As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant.
I am also a certified Rapid Transformational therapist (RTT; Marisa Peer), Compassionate Inquiry therapist (CI; Dr. Gabor Mate), trained in Suicide Attention VS Prevention and various other Somatic healing modalities. I combine all my various trainings along with the Kumon Instructor regular training combined with visits to various Kumon Centers all over the world in order to learn best practices and understand how to work with the different age groups, keep them motivated and driven and to understand their challenges.
This has become even more obvious after the Pandemic and the long shutdowns which have affected many children's self esteem, confidence and learning skills.
Kumon's well designed worksheets and curriculum works wonders in children with learning challenges and those on School IEP's in building a daily routine, developing self confidence, mastering the foundational concepts and working well above grade level concepts, with a long term commitment to success.
