About the Instructor

After ten years of working as a System Support Analyst at South Georgia Medical Center, I was ready for a career change. I always had the desire to work with children in some way, and to become my own boss. Shortly after enrolling my children in Kumon, something clicked. I am excited to create a love for learning in my beloved community of over ten years.

Biography and Background

My name is Meghana Patel and I am honored to be the new Instructor at the Valdosta center! I was born and raised in India.

Each child is unique, coming from different backgrounds, and each has their own story to tell. Kumon has a strong belief that each child learns differently, making Kumon a great fit for me since the company and I share the same passion.

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

As a Kumon mom, I am excited to see my kids continue to excel and to be able to provide a love for learning to other kids too.

Training and Certification

I have a Master's degree in Computer Applications. In addition, I have training for an Instructor for early learners and special needs.

Now that I have joined the Kumon family, I am continuously learning about the program, the students and how to become a better instructor. I am in the process of completing the courses of the Instructors Development Program and have completed many Intensive Study Courses. There are many opportunities for me to learn and I plan to take advantage of them all as a Kumon Instructor.
