Virginia has always been home to me, even though I lived in South America and Europe for several years. I received my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Virginia, Master's in TESOL at Wheaton College in Illinois and Master's in Secondary Education at the University of Alabama. My pursuit of teaching and love of the Spanish language led me to Quito, Ecuador where I taught ESL for eight years. I met my Swedish husband while teaching in Ecuador, and we moved to Jönköping, Sweden where I taught English and Spanish at an international school for another eight years.
I am so thankful to be back in Virginia, where I decided to open a Kumon Center. I believe the Kumon Method really helps students not only gain academic knowledge but also to develop their work skills such as stamina, concentration, and grit which are beneficial to all aspects of life. It is a privilege to work with students at our center and to be an active part in their journey towards excellence.
