About the Instructor

Welcome! My name is Melinda and I am the instructor at the Kumon Math & Reading Centre of Winnipeg – Sage Creek Village. 

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

As each student progresses through the program, it is my goal for your child to develop confidence in their abilities and to use that confidence as motivation to accomplish more for him/herself, while on the journey to unlocking their true potential.

I look forward to meeting with you and will be available to discuss your plans and goals for your children at the Sage Creek Village.

My journey with Kumon started as a student when I was  6 years old. This gave me a inside look at the many benefits of the Kumon Method of learning.  Not only did I develop strong math calculation abilities, I also learned the value of self-discipline, time management and the importance of persevering through challenges.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Food Science (Hons.) and a Master’s Degree with distinctions in Human Nutritional Sciences from the University of Manitoba.

As a parent to two young children, I find tremendous joy in guiding my students to develop into their full potential. I look forward to helping your child(ren) achieve success, not just with their academics, but also with the many life skills they will develop as a Kumon student.
