About the Instructor

Center Instructor, Raj Kapur

First and foremost, I am a Kumon parent! I empathize with parents! I know that we are all trying to help our kids get better. I aim to make the Kumon Center of Zionsville a welcoming and safe place for all students where they feel free to speak about their struggles without judgement so that we can help them learn from their mistakes and show that with a little courage and perseverance, we can achieve the lofty goals we set for ourselves.

My professional training was in Finance and Information Technology. I worked a variety of IT jobs in a 25+year career including developer, tester, project manager, and business owner. I am very proud of the work I did in the IT industry but I've never have the fulfillment in my previous roles that I have as a Kumon instructor.

The ability to help students achieve their goals is a wildly gratifying career that I do not take lightly. I promise that my center staff and I treat each of your students with the utmost care and professionalism and push them to be the best person they can be intellectually and emotionally. I have seen the Kumon Math and Reading programs open new doors and opportunities for my own children and want to help open those opportunities for your children as well.

Education & Work History

I received a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Finance & Management Information Systems. Over a 30-year IT career, I worked for Fortune 50 firms, startups, and even started my own company. I had numerous jobs in the IT industry, including developer/coder, database administrator, project manager, trainer, and business owner. 

While I had great levels of success in my previous profession, I never had the kind of job satisfaction that I now experience as a Kumon Instructor. Being able to shape young children and show them the best of themselves is a wildly satisfying and personally rewarding career. I have helped a number of students improve their confidence at school with structured instruction and practice - let me help your children be their best selves.
