About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Austin - Great Hills. Since July 1997, our center's mission is to guide and equip our students with the necessary skills and experience to become successful, independent learners. We believe that effective instruction is crucial in developing adept learning skills in students. Therefore, here at the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Austin - Great Hills, we provide students with a large team of experienced, helpful assistants. As a result, our students receive the individualized attention and instruction that is required for success. We believe that the students and their families are the essence of our community; they deserve all the attention of the center. By nurturing our students, Kumon Math and Reading Center of Austin - Great Hills aims to attentively instruct and guide them in achieving their full, academic potential as successful, independent learners.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

Price and Fees


Price and Fees:

  • Monthly Tuition - $160 per subject
  • Registration Fee - $80 (one time)
  • Materials Fee - $30 (one time)
  • Discounts available for siblings and multiple subjects

Policies

Student Schedule:
* Classroom Study - 2 days per week; 30 minutes per subject

* Home Study - 5 non-center days; 20-30 minutes per day, per subject


Policies:
* Kumon is a long-term math & reading enrichment program. We require a 6-month commitment to provide your child an adequate amount of time to establish their new Kumon study routine & make academic progress.

* The Kumon method is founded on a practice model facilitated both at the center and at home. Success requires partnership and high communication between the instructors, parents & students. Daily worksheet completion & in-center attendance are core tenants of the Kumon method.

* Kumon is not a tutoring program and is not intended to train a specific skill to meet a short-term need. The Kumon curriculum will not necessarily align with the student's current grade level. Your child's initial placement test will establish a comfortable academic starting point and a path to achieving grade level competencies and beyond.

    Do you like a fast-paced work environment? Do you like working with kids? Kumon, the world's largest after-school enrichment program, seeks energetic Part-time Math and Reading Grader/Assistants for the Austin Great Hills center's after-school math and reading program.

    Responsibilities include:  Assisting students (primarily pre-k to middle school) with Math and Reading
                                     Grading math & reading worksheets
                                     Light administrative duties
    * Experience in a paid or non-paid job working with kids including teacher’s aide, day care, tutor, babysitting, coach, childhood education       etc is preferred
    * Proficiency in HS Math (Alg II and/or Calc) and/or HS English/Writing is a plus Skills Include:
