About the Center

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center of Woodbridge - Avenel. We are located at 160 Avenel Street  Avenel NJ, in the Station Village at Avenel, right next to the Avenel Performing Arts Center and the train station

For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

VIRTUAL HOURS OF OPERATION

Monday, Wednesday and Thursday         3:30 pm – 6:30 pm

STUDENT DROP OFF AND PARKING

Please be available to pick up your child within 20-30 minutes if enrolled in 1 subject and within 40 min-1 hour if enrolled in 2 subjects. Please remember child must be here 30 minutes before the closing for 1 subject and 1 hour before closing for 2 subjects. If you arrive later, you will only be able to pick-up work.

Please remember to park in the designated parking areas only. Kumon is not responsible for any penalty you may get due to traffic/parking rules which are not followed.

TUITION RULES

Tuition is due on or before the 1^st week of the month, regardless of when that falls. There will be a $20 late fee charge per subject, in case of late (after 1^st of the month) tuition payment.  Tuition is NON-refundable and NON-transferable.

30 days written/verbal notice at the beginning of the month is required for quitting any or all subjects, other wise the security deposit will be forfeited.

In case of a returned check, a flat fee of $25.00 will be charged.

VACATIONS

Kumon must be notified about vacations at least 1 week before the last class date.

Vacation work will not be prepared during the class.

Breaks without work for over 30 days will result in re-registration upon return to the center. Long breaks are strongly discouraged, as the program builds on each day’s progress and is designed to continue at a light and easy pace until completion.  Completion of a program may take several years depending upon the age of the student. 

CLASS ROOM RULES

No gum, food, drinks.

No trash on the floors.

No running.

No Talking unless receiving help for work.

Sick children are not to come to class.

WAITING ROOM RULES

Parents must respect classroom by not entering and must wait on site. Classroom is for students only. Please call the center with questions during non-center time and setup an appointment for discussions.

No food / drink in waiting area.

Absolutely no rough play among children.

Parent MUST watch children at all the times and ensure they are following waiting room rules.  Keep waiting room door closed.

Do not distract students by standing by the windows and door. Please use the available seating.
