Welcome to Kumon Math and Reading Center of Bellevue – Newport Hills! Conveniently accessed via I-405 exits 9 and 10 and Coal Creek Parkway SE, we proudly serve families from Bellevue, Newcastle, and Renton.

For more than 50 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.

Incomplete Homework
We expect our students to come to class with all of their Kumon homework 100% complete, along with all mistakes corrected. Students who come to class with work that is incomplete may be asked to complete all of it at the Center before beginning the classwork for the day, as well as make all corrections.

If there are extenuating circumstances that have prevented your child from completing their work at home, please be sure to send in a note or give a call alerting us in advance that the homework has not been done. We will reschedule their work for them.

What If I Miss a Class?
If you know that your child will not be able to make it to class, please call us so that we can arrange for you to pick up their classwork and homework during class instead. With advance notice, we can put their work in the box outside the center for you to pick up.

If a student misses a regularly-scheduled class without contacting us in advance, the work for that class is forfeited and will be reassigned for the next class. Work missed due to an unexcused absence cannot be "made up".

Completed and corrected assignments are used to develop and modify each student's individualized lesson plan. For this reason, new assignments will not be given after the 2nd subsequent unexcused absence until the previously assigned work is returned.

Termination Policy
Per our Kumon of Bellevue - Newport Hills center policy, if a student is going to drop out of a class, either temporarily or indefinitely for some reason, a written notice is required at least 30 days before the effective date. Failure to receive such notice will result in continued charges to your account. Your account will remain open and active until written notice is received. Your account will be closed 30 days after we receive your notice to terminate.

Tuition is pro-rated for the first month only according to the day of the month enrolled. Full tuition is charged for all subsequent months until 30 days written notice is given to terminate enrollment.

Paid tuition is non-refundable and is forfeited should a student discontinue enrollment. In cases of medical or other emergencies where a 30-day notice is impossible to give, please call us and we will do what we can to accommodate your situation.

The Kumon North America policy is that students need to re-enroll and pay the registration fee if they are absent more than one month in the calendar year.
