Admissions and Enrollment
The Kumon Math and Reading Center of Broadview Heights enrolls students on a month-to-month basis. Although there is no long-term commitment, it is highly recommended that families at our center keep their children enrolled for a minimum of six to twelve months in order to fully take advantage of the program and see great results.
Holiday/Vacation Schedules
Planning and organizing work for your child takes a great deal of thought and organization. We require a minimum of one week notice before any extended absence in order to put your child's vacation packet together. Please let us know if you want your child to take a few days off, lessen the daily workload, or even increase the amount of work to be done over your vacation.
Please use the vacation form available at check-in and leave the completed form with the assistant at the front desk at least one week in advance, so that we have time to prepare your child's packets carefully.
Center Closures
Center closures are announced well in advance. We announce verbally when a child checks in and out of class the week before a closing and on the website. The Kumon Center of Broadview Heights follows the Broadview Heights Public School calendar for vacation closings and other weather related closings. The center is also closed on major holidays. The website will also be updated with emergency closure information.
Communication
Class time is reserved for instruction and observation. Please alert the assistant at check-in about any notes with your feedback on homework so that we can address it during your child's visit. Alternatively, you may e-mail or call with questions or concerns during office hours. To schedule a conference with the instructor, please e-mail or call for an appointment.
We ask that students arrive no later than 6.30pm to ensure that they have adequate time to complete class work before the center closes.
Transfer Students
In the event that you decide to transfer to another Kumon Center, we require a 30 day written notice.
Withdrawal Policy
If parents wish to stop enrollment, you must declare in writing 15 days before the beginning of the next month. Advanced written notice of intent to withdraw is required in order to give us sufficient time to cancel your account and avoid any unwanted charges.
Achievement Tests and Awards
Passing an Achievement Test indicates that a student has achieved mastery of the concepts in that level and has the skills necessary to handle the work in the next level. Each student who passes an Achievement Test receives an Achievement Test Certificate and an Achievement Test Summary.
Please be sure to read the Achievement Test Summary that will come home along with the Achievement Test Certificate. This includes the students score and a brief overview of the goals at the next level.
