About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center of Baltimore Federal Hill, the only Kumon Math and Reading Learning Center in Baltimore City. Kumon is a well-known and respected after-school program that helps students develop their math and reading skills through individualized instruction and practice. The center will provide the valuable service to the community. The center offers a structured and supportive environment for children to learn and grow, and help to level the playing fields and provide opportunities for success.

For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and enjoyed. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept or higher level of study. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

Price and Fees

Fees Include:

Registration: $50 (One-time charge at time of enrollment for all students.)
Material Fee: $30 (One-time charge at time of enrollment for all students.)

Math Tuition: $200 per month
Reading Tuition: $200 per month

Math & Reading: $360 per month

Policies

TUITION POLICY

Registration Day: We require payment of the initial Registration Fee, Material Fee, and the first month of tuition at registration. The first month may be prorated, but subsequent monthly tuition payment must be paid in full and is due on the first day of the month.

Payment Method: Credit cards and/or a bank debit card must be on file. The monthly tuition is automatically deducted on the 1st calendar day of each month for the following month's tuition.

Monthly Invoice / Pay Online / Third Party Checks: A $15 late fee is automatically assessed to your bill if paid after the 1st of the month.

Tuition is non-refundable once a student has received a work assignment for the month.

The tuition fee is a fixed amount. It does not vary with the number of worksheets completed, the number of class sessions that a student attends, or the times and days the center is open. If the child is enrolled on or after 15th of the month, one half of the monthly tuition per subject will be charged.

Part-Time Teaching Assistant

  • Job Summary:

    We are seeking a compassionate part-time teaching assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support to students in a fun and engaging environment. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and want to make a positive impact on the lives of children.

    Responsibilities:
    * Assisting the instructor in planning and implementing instructional activities for students in math and reading.
    * Grading the student's worksheets and assist student to correct mistakes 
    * Providing one-on-one support to students, helping them understand concepts and compete worksheets.
    * Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to both students and the instructor.
    * Assisting with the preparation of class materials, such as worksheets, lesson plans, and visual study aids.
    * Supervising students during activities and ensuring a safe and conductive learning environment.
    * Recording student's worksheet and performance, checking with student's worksheet complete either in the center or home.
    * Communicating with parents or guardians regarding student progress and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.

    As a part-time assistant, you proactively support the center instructor in creating a positive and engaging learning experience for students, helping them develop their math and reading skills.

Part-Time Associate Manager

  • Job Summary:
    We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Associate Manager at our Learning Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the management team in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the center, including monitoring student's learning subjects, training to assistants, student services, and financial management. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:
    * Provide support to the management team in managing staff, volunteers, and other resources.
    * Support the management team in developing and implementing educational programs that align with the center's mission and goals.
    * Collaborate with instructor to design and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that meet the needs of students.
    * Oversee student services, including students schedules, in-center learning, grading, parents conference, and PO appointment
    * Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and businesses to promote the center's programs and services.
    * Evaluate the effectiveness of the center's programs and make recommendations for improvement.
    * Manage budgets, financial reports, billing, and credit card profiles of the customers

    Requirements:
    * Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or related field.
    * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in education or a related field.
    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    * Strong organizational and time management skills.
