Tuition is a flat fee due on the 1st of each month, regardless of the amount of homework taken, or the number of classes attended. Note that Kumon is closed on all statutory holidays, one week during Spring Break, one week during the summer, and two weeks over Christmas and New Year's. Daily homework is assigned during closures, unless otherwise specified by parent(s).
A discount of $5 per subject, per student is given to families with a minimum of four (4) subjects. A student in both Math and Reading is enrolled in two (2) subjects.
COMMITMENT AGREEMENT
Upon registration, you agree to remain enrolled for a minimum of one (1) year of study.
This is non-transferable to another subject, to another student, or to another location. A one-month absence may be taken so long as a minimum notice of one calendar month is given.
PRE-AUTHORIZED DEBIT(PAD) PAYMENTS
The first month’s fees, which include the tuition, deposit, and registration fee, must be paid at the time of registration via e-transfer. Cheques or exact cash payments are not preferred but are accepted. We do not accept credit cards.
Starting your second month of enrollment, regular monthly tuition payments will be debited from your personal Canadian chequing account on the 1st of each month. We do not accept monthly payments from business accounts, credit cards, e-transfers, post-dated cheques, or cash.
At the time of enrollment, you will be required to provide a void cheque or a pre-authorized debit (PAD) form from your banking institution to set up automatic monthly tuition payments.
Changes to your bank account on file must be received in writing or via email at least one month before the next scheduled payment. Your authorization for PAD payments remains in effect until notification of its change or termination has been received.
Should any payment(s) bounce due to any reason, such as non-sufficient in funds (NSF), a charge of $30 plus any outstanding tuition payments must be paid by e-transfer before the 15th of the current month.
CLASS SCHEDULE
Students attend two (2) classes per week for 20 to 30 minutes per subject. Kumon does not recommend attending only one (1) class per week, but it can be managed with extra support from home.
Arrive on time according to your schedule. Students who are early or late may be asked to wait or complete their work on their own at home for that day.
Parental consent is required for students to pick up work (not stay for class) or to leave early. Email or inform the front-desk staff if your child needs to leave earlier than scheduled.
Temporary schedule changes are not permitted. Only permanent (long-term) changes can be made. Email us at least one week in advance and before adding other extra-curricular activities that may affect your Kumon schedule. Schedule changes are subject to availability.
Make-up classes are not provided for missed classes or vacations.
A full month's tuition is collected regardless of the amount of homework taken, or the number of classes attended.
Kumon is closed on all statutory holidays, one week during Spring Break, one week during the summer, and two weeks over Christmas and New Year's. Daily homework is assigned during closures, unless otherwise specified by parent(s).

A minimum notice of one full calendar month is required. Month-long absences start on the 1st day of the month. Homework will not be assigned, and tuition will not be charged for that month.
Per Kumon North America policies, only one month-long absence per calendar year is allowed. Absences longer than one month will result in discontinuation of the program, and the registration fee ($80) is payable again to restart.
We recommend continuing your Kumon studies over the summer months since students have more time, and to prevent summer learning loss. If a break is needed, consider taking off a busier month, such as September, December, or June.

HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS & STUDENT PROGRESS
Homework Organizer (or Homework List)
A list of the assigned daily homework is printed and stapled to your child's first homework booklet. When possible, check your child's work before leaving the centre.
Daily Homework Completion
Students must complete booklets in date order (according to the date written on each booklet, completing the oldest booklet first), and return all homework each class, whether completed or not. Do not erase or change the dates.
You may see repeated assignments, one of the key philosophies of Kumon. This practice allows your child to master concepts, shown through speed and accuracy, and builds confidence.
Students should not attempt to "catch up" and/or complete extra booklets in one day. If you are concerned that there is too little or too much daily homework, please email us.
Daily Home-Marking and Correction (for Math students)
Parent are strongly encouraged to home-mark so that students do not repeat conceptual mistakes. Have your child fix any mistakes right away, then re-mark to ensure that the errors are now correct.
Home-Marking and correction should be done daily, before students start the next booklet the following day. Return all assignments each class even if you are unable to mark homework and/or if your child has not fixed their errors yet.
Parents of Reading students do not need to home-mark. Instead, parents are asked to check homework daily for completion, neatness, and other proper study habits. Have your child read aloud to you daily to practice fluency and expression.
New Concepts
New concepts may be assigned in class. In this class, students may work out of date order.
Achievement Tests
Tests are used to determine whether students have mastered the concepts in each level and are assigned near the end of the level or at the start of a new level. Results with updated progress reports (see below) may be given directly to students.
Progress Reports
These reports show how your child is progressing and allows you to see the study plan for future levels. Progress reports are used as a tool to help students make and achieve goals in their Kumon journey and can change depending on your child's individual progress through Kumon.
Progress reports may be given directly to students upon advancement of an achievement test (see above) and can be emailed to parents upon request.
If you would like to speak with Alice or Pamela about your child's progress or study plan, please call during office hours or email us. Alice and Pamela may speak briefly to parents during class, but class times are reserved for students.

Students are awarded one (1) sticker for homework completion and for writing their name and times on each assignment.
