COVID-19 CENTER OPEN FOR PICK UP AND DROP OFF WORK ONLY
Dear Kumon Family,
At Kumon of Davis our students’ health and safety is our top priority. We have been closely monitoring the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19).
With the recent developments in Yolo County regarding the shelter in place mandate through April 7th, we are working to ensure that your students can continue their learning while at home.
From 3:00pm – 6:00 pm the next 2 weeks on Mondays and Thursdays 3/19, 3/23/, 3/26, and 4/2 our center will be open for pick up and drop offs only. Each student can receive enough work until Sunday, April 12th. PLease inform me if you will need more work ( due to spring break for private school differs).
Starting 3/19 students will be given at least 2 weeks of work possibly through spring break.
For families who are unable to make it between 3:00pm – 6:00pm on the above dates,
please call or email me for arrangements.
According to an order just released, (https://www.yolocounty.org/home/showdocument?id=62366) individuals may leave their residence only to perform “Essential Business.”
In defining what are “Essential Business” Under Section 10 f xii, the order includes facilitating distance learning or performing essential functions, provided a social distancing of six feet per person is maintained to the greatest extent possible. The order goes on to state that an “essential activities” includes travel to or from educational institutions for purposes of receiving material for distant learning, and any other related services.(Section10 hiii)
Due to the sudden nature of this shelter in place mandate, each student can receive enough work to last them up to Sunday, April 12th. Their work might NOT be separated and dated as usual. Instead, each student will receive work in packets of 10 pages. Each packet will have a number on the front page to ensure that your child is completing the packets in numerical order.
Please encourage your student to start with packet 1. Starting with packet 1, have your child complete at least a few pages every day and continue from where they left off on the next day. Please remind your child to also date and time their work. It is important to have your child complete the packets in numerical order and not pick and choose. With the quick changing nature of this situation, this will ensure that you and your family have the flexibility to continue your child’s Kumon studies every day.
If your child has completed all the provided work during the shelter in place period, please let me know and we can provide more if needed.
Lastly, we are currently working on a solution to ensure that your children can ask questions remotely when needed. Please stay tuned for those details. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out via text, phone, or email if your child has any questions with their homework. I will also be reaching out to check in on how the students are doing at home.

As always, thank you so much for your continued dedication. Please know that we will continue to think about your family and your well-being and are committed to continuing to support your child. Please let me know if you have any questions.
