About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Framingham!

We are located about 22 miles west of Boston,MA.

Kumon is an after school supplemental educational program.  Kumon has been in business since 1958 and is located in 60 countries/regions and growing.

The Kumon Math and Reading Center of Framingham has been part of this wonderful journey since 2003. Our Center is committed to develop the untapped potential of each and every child be it Remedial or Enrichment. We do this through building confidence and developing skills in the fundamental building blocks of math and reading. With the development of self-learning students as our goal, we will prioritize individualized instruction and effective communication to achieve the highest learning outcomes through in person classes.

At Kumon of Framingham, we believe that every child has the potential to learn far and beyond our expectations. It is the job of our Kumon Center to encourage each individual child to want to learn, to enjoy learning, and to be capable of studying successfully in the future which is building study skills and work skills.

The most challenging part of the program is to set a routine. It is very important for parents to partner with your child and Latha Narayanan, Director/Instructor. We are here to mentor and guide your child in both Math and Reading subjects.

Visit and like us on our Facebook page to receive updates. You may also view many of the videos posted to understand more about our unique program.

Any question please feel free to contact Latha Narayanan at [email protected] or call 508-875-0552.

Terms of Enrollment
Kumon is not a quick fix but should be considered a long-term program. Depending on the child's comfortable starting point, he or she will reach grade level or beyond in 3-12 months time frame, obviously depending on each individual child. The ultimate goal of the program is mastery of the subject and independent learning and advancement beyond grade level. The length of time for program completion varies for each child.

Framingham Kumon has successfully guided over 300 students in this past 20 years to complete program in both Math and Reading. To achieve this, we need to have a partnership between Parent, Student and Instructor (Myself - Latha Narayanan). I, Latha Narayanan will be very carefully planning all my students lessons to ensure the just right level, with respect to academic challenges, work skills, study skills and study attitude.

Parent Commitment
Create a quiet study place for daily homework assignments.

Grade your child's homework using the provided answer book if applicable, recheck corrections and summarize daily and provide raw scores. This will ensure your Childs' smooth progress.

Please be sure to return all borrowed materials like books, answer keys, flash cards, CD's. If any of the material is lost or returned in unusable condition, we charge $5 for answer book, $25 for solution book and $10 for Library book.

It is necessary for us to meet after 30 days, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months after your child's initial enrollment. The meetings are scheduled either before or after classroom hours. Please email or call if you would like to schedule time to meet. If you have any question, you may talk to our front desk manager, and she will check in with the instructor to provide an immediate answer.

A minimum of 6 months commitment is required to notice a good change in your child's work skills, study skills, academic skills.

Student Attendance
Parents must make sure the child enters the classroom before leaving the premises. Currently we use the texting service, when your child enters the classroom you will receive a text message stating that your child is checked in. The same way you will receive a text when they have completed their class. Please do remember to update your phone number for this purpose.

Please be available to pick them up promptly if for any delay please let the office manager know.

Students should arrive at the center with all the materials necessary to complete their work. Please make sure they have Pencils and Erasers- we prefer for students to bring their own, this will prevent spreading germs.

Students typically attend twice a week for about 20 -30 minutes per subject or however long it takes to complete the assignments. It might sometime take extra time if they are learning anything new.

All Students are expected/mandated to keep their time schedule. For any time, change request please call center between the hours of 10 and 2:30 pm or email ahead of time.

Please inform us of any absence prior to class via telephone or email.

If you know that you will need to pick up additional work, please inform us in advance. Work cannot be prepared for absences or vacations during classroom hours. If for any reason you were not able to provide us notice prior to the class, we will prepare the work and leave it outside in the homework pick up box which can be accessed at any time.

Tuition Policy
Tuition is due in advance. For example, March monthly tuition is due on or before the 1st of the month.

Tuition is due by the first of every month for the next month and is considered late after the 5th of the current month. A $25 late fee will be assessed

All tuition is processed through Automatic withdrawal from your bank. This will cost you no extra fee. For those who choose not to pay by EFT can pay quarterly with no extra fee. For any bounced payment, the bank bounced charges will be due by the parent.

A $35 fee will be assessed for all returned payments.

Student Drop off and Parking
We request you to drop off children at their scheduled time. Due to lack of parking and for the convenience of all to pick up we request you not to park in the premises.

Let your child know that they cannot step outside of the class until you arrive. For students who take one subject it will be approximately 20-30 minutes of class time and two subject about an 45 minutes. Sometimes the children are done early, sometimes late if they have another class to attend, or if you have other commitments to let us know by either calling the center or sending an email prior to classroom time.

We use Check-in/Check-out system to notify you.

ABSENCES
A student who, for whatever reason, does not pay tuition or take any Kumon materials in a given month for a particular subject is considered absent for that month for that subject. Students will be allowed a period of absence not to exceed one month per calendar year. Students who return/re-enroll after being reported as absent for more than one monthly period in a given calendar year will be assessed a registration fee. (Note: For Multi-subject students, the student would have to go absent for more than one month in all subjects concurrently for this policy to apply. Students remaining enrolled in at least one subject will not be affected by this policy). This rule also applies to students who transfer to another Kumon Center.
