About Your Instructor
SHILPA DHAR
Hi! My name is Shilpa Dhar - the instructor for the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Fremont - Centerville location. I'm passionate about education and helping all students reach their fullest potential.
Being the daughter of a teacher, education always has been top priority in my family. My mother, a teacher for over 40 years, has always served as a role model to me. Witnessing my mother interact with students showed me how education helps to develop a better community, which in turn builds a successful nation. Whenever we educate we always spread the wealth of learning that never goes waste.
I first heard of the Kumon program when I enrolled my daughter in 2005. Through my daughter, I witnessed first hand, how the program greatly benefited her academics and confidence. Enrolling my daughter in the program at a early age helped prepare her for an easy transition to Kindergarten which resulted in a smooth progression through elementary, middle and high school. Currently, my youngest daughter is also enrolled in both the Math and Reading program.
Prior to opening my center in 2010, I worked in both the banking and airline industry. After reflecting on my mother's career and my child's experience in Kumon, I decided to open my own center!
As a Kumon parent myself, I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of the program. I make it a point to ensure that my student's lesson plans are individualized to suit the needs and goals of the student and family.
It has been a joy to work with students of all ages and abilities within the Fremont community. I look forward to welcoming you and your child to Kumon! I hope to see you soon.
