About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Johns Creek State Bridge. We are located off State Bridge in the Kroger Shopping Plaza next to Papa Johns. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.

Job Opportunities

Classwork/Homework Grader

  • Goals
Grading classwork and homework. Accurate and quick grading will help the instructor and other assistants to understand the students' center performance, which will lead to better instruction. It will also demonstrate to the student that we recognize their hard work and respect their time. Neatness, quickness and accuracy in grading, along with a smile and occasional positive feedback, can help students to achieve their full potential through the Kumon Method.

    Regular Tasks (Structure) and Expectations
    1. Prioritize what should be graded first—consider how long students have been waiting, whether they are doing one subject or two and whether or not corrections, depending on the number to be graded, should take priority over class work.
    2. Grade student work with care, according to the solution manual and with respect to the students’ valuable time.
    3. Praise students' hard work, look up often to smile, and discreetly notify the Instructor of classwork (or Achievement Test) scores/times that are out of the ordinary.
    4. Timely grading of students' classwork and homework will help the center flow efficiently, assist the instructor in understanding student performance, lead to just right planning, and the type of Kumon experience that the student will want to repeat.
