Kumon Center of Lewisburg Policies
Our Center Policies align with the general operating guidelines of Kumon North America, with some specifics tailored to our local needs.
Class and Homework
Time: Classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM. Students are encouraged to attend class twice a week so the instructor can monitor their progress and adjust their work accordingly. Virtual classes are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM and 8:15-9:15 PM for long-distance students using Kumon Connect.
Homework: Students are expected to finish ALL of their assignments at home. Whether you are an athlete, musician, or a Kumon Math and Reading student, daily practice is essential for success. Homework is assigned based on each student's "just right" level and should be completed daily.
Parent Involvement: Setting up a suitable study environment, offering positive encouragement, and regularly observing your child's progress can greatly enhance the benefits of the Kumon program. These efforts help ensure your child gets the most out of their learning experience.
Payment Guidelines
Due Date: Tuition is due on or before the 1st of each month. Payments received after the 7th (based on postmark if mailed) will incur a late fee of $10.
Payment Methods: We accept Venmo, Zelle and checks. For cash payments, ensure you hand the cash directly to the instructor and request a receipt. We do not accept credit card payments at this time.
Enrollment and Attendance
Partial Payments: We do not accept partial monthly payments. Full monthly tuition is required except for the first month of enrollment.
- If enrolling on or before the 15th of the month, the full monthly tuition applies.
- If enrolling after the 15th, a prorated half-month tuition is due.
Absence Policy: Each student may take one month of absence per calendar year without any penalties, provided they have completed at least six months of continuous enrollment. Absences exceeding one month will require re-registration, a new assessment, and payment of the registration fee.
- Extended absence will negatively affect your child's progress. Please notify the instructor at least one month in advance if your child will be absent for more than 30 days.
- If your child will miss classes due to vacation or other extended absences, inform the instructor in advance so assignments can be prepared.
Communication and Updates
Parent Notifications: The primary method of communication is through email, ensuring parents receive timely updates about their child's progress, upcoming events, and important announcements. Please make sure the Center has your current email address on file. Additionally, some information may be sent home with students, so it's a good idea to check with your child after each class.
Parent Involvement: We encourage open communication. Feel free to ask questions, share concerns, or provide feedback.
Thank you for being a part of our Kumon Center community! We look forward to supporting your child’s learning journey.
