About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

Policies

Center Guidelines:
Parents must be waiting in the parent waiting area or available to pick their child up immediately upon the completion of his/her assignment (20-30 min per subject). Kumon Math and Reading Center of Lawrenceville - Sugarloaf Crossing is NOT responsible for the supervision of any child once his/her class work is completed. Students are not allowed to leave the Center without a parent/guardian.

Center Calendar:
The center will be closed during several national holidays and other days too. Homework will be assigned in place of classwork in order for your child’s development to stay on track. Center’s monthly calendar will be posted on Facebook Page, Center web page, parent waiting area, SMS and/or sent via email. Closing on emergencies will be communicated immediately. Kumon worksheets are generally assigned 365 days per year. In the case of inclement weather, we will follow the County Schools’ policies.

Class Attendance:
Class attendance is a vital part of the Kumon program. Observing students during class is essential in the lesson planning process for each student. If a student is unable to attend class, we will put assignments in the outside box on the sidewalk next to the front door. If possible, please communicate about the absence well before, so that we can plan accordingly, and your child can stay on track academically. There are no makeup classes or rebates for missed classes. Any student absent for a month or more would be removed automatically and will be re-enrolled with registration fee upon request.

Withdrawal Policy:
A fifteen (15) days written/email notice is required to discontinue enrollment.
