About Your Instructor

Michael O'Brien

I am Alex O'Brien, the Owner and Instructor at Kumon of Liberty Hill. I graduated from Trinity University with a BS in Business Administration and a major in Mathematics. I was a high school mathematics teacher for 18 years, most recently in Liberty Hill ISD & Leander ISD. I am supported at home by my wife, Luisana, and my boys, Aiden & Mason. We are native Texans and moved to Liberty Hill in 2021. Outside of the classroom, I am an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, love to travel with my family, and enjoy helping with my kids’ activities!

I have a passion for education and working with kids. I believe in the Kumon method and have seen its value as both a Kumon parent and instructor. Kumon of Liberty Hill was founded to meet each child where they are and help them develop the ability and confidence to thrive both in school and in life.
