About Your Instructor
Tanya Khandpur
Welcome to the Kumon Center of Merrifield! My name is Tanya Khandpur. In addition to being the Instructor of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Merrifield, I am also a former Kumon student. I graduated from Boston University and worked in the hotel industry before rejoining Kumon.
As a former Kumon student, I feel very strongly that the values of the Kumon Program go beyond academics and help to build a strong bond between parents and their children. Mr. Kumon's belief of making the world a better place by offering students the chance to experience the learning process and discover his or her potential is very important to me.
At the Kumon Center of Merrifield, we strive to create a cohesive family of students, parents, and staff working towards the common goal of making happy, conscientious human beings through the Kumon Program. Our goal is for the center to serve as an education resource for families. Students, parents, and staff should find the daily homework and tasks engaging. I believe that it is essential for instructors and staff to continually deepen their understanding of the program and pass that information on to students and their parents.
On a personal note, I find the Kumon Program to be a never-ending gift. As a Kumon Instructor, I look forward to sharing this gift with your family as well. I enjoy studying both the Math and Reading Programs over and over again and continue to be amazed by the lessons imparted by the curriculum. I sincerely believe Kumon gives students the ability and courage to pursue any goal they set for themselves.
