About Your Instructor
Kamala Govindaswamy
I was transferred ownership of the Kumon of Midlothian Center on September 1st, 2018, after completing the Kumon Instructor Certification Program. Prior to this, I was a parent at this Center for 12 years. The structure, discipline, and success instilled by this program in my daughters encouraged me to continue this by taking over this Center when I was presented with the opportunity to do so. After months of rigorous training, workshops and examinations, I began my role as Instructor, and I have not looked back since.
My husband, two daughters and I have resided in the Midlothian area for the past 20 years. My daughters attended Chesterfield County Public Schools for their primary and secondary education. Prior to becoming a Kumon Instructor, I was a stay-at-home mother. From 2013-2018, I worked as a Library Assistant in Winterpock Elementary. I am grateful to continue serving the Chesterfield community.
The Vision of Kumon of Midlothian/ Swift Creek South:
"Nurturing and enhancing the capability of every student that steps into my Center and blossom them into honest, confident and responsible contributors to the Chesterfield community".
As a Kumon Instructor, I strive to bring out the best in each of my students, in hopes of maximizing their true potential. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's learning journey!!
