Chellam Govindaraj
As an extensively trained professional instructor, Chellam Govind serves as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support, and encouragement. Chellam creates an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and she emphasizes the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of her students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, Chellam has a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.
Biography and Background
Chellam Govind - Center Director
Chellam’s experience with Kumon began in 2005 when she enrolled her two daughters in the program. Witnessing the increase in attention span and the improvement in school from the Kumon method firsthand, she decided to give back to the Kumon community in 2008 starting as an assistant and progressed her way to Center Director. She has been instrumental in hundreds of children’s education during this time.
Chellam is passionate about helping children build confidence, develop strong academic foundations, and reach their full potential. Her experience includes working with students who benefit from individualized support, helping them strengthen not only their academic skills but also focus, independence, and other essential life skills. As a mother of two successful daughters who completed both the Kumon Reading and Math programs, she knows the lasting effects of the Kumon method and is passionate about providing the same opportunities and lasting benefits to the children in her community.
A St. Louis resident for 26 years and a Wildwood resident for 23 years, Chellam has a deep connection to the local community and a strong understanding of the Rockwood and Parkway school systems. She looks forward to bringing her experience, dedication, and passion for education to the Manchester community.
