About the Center

As a precaution of the Covid19 pandemic, the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Naperville - South is cleaned and sanitized against viruses and bacteria. Center personnel as well as students are scanned with a thermometer, and use hand sanitizer as they enter and exit the center. All students will social distance while in the center.

The Kumon Math and Reading Center of Naperville - South offers options for both in class sessions as well as virtual class sessions. Parents have a choice of opting for any choice according to their convenience.

We are open for Enrollments, Parent Orientations and Free Placement Tests (in person or via Zoom) during the following days/hours, by appointments.

Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Saturdays: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center of Naperville - South. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

Our specific rates are provided to parents during orientation, and we are significantly less expensive than private tutors and "quick-fix" types of tutoring programs in the area. Our mission at Kumon is to bring the Kumon Method of Learning to as many students as possible, and therefore, we keep our pricing reasonable.

There is no charge for placement testing, and we do not ask parents to pay a fee to learn the results of the tests. There is a one-time registration fee and a one-time materials fee, which are discussed at orientation. We can generally start students in the program within the same week as the placement tests.

A detailed set of Kumon Center Policies is provided during the Parent Orientation prior to enrollment. The basics which Ms. Bhamini applies to all enrolled families include:

1. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 3 pm - 7:30 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 - 12:00 pm.  Students are expected to attend class on both days unless the parents discuss changes with Ms. Bhamini in advance.
   
   
2. Whether you are an athlete, musician or Kumon math and reading student, daily practice is essential for success. Homework is assigned on each student's "just right" level, and should be completed, graded, timed and corrected daily.
   
   
3. Successful progress in Kumon requires parent's active supervision of daily work. Setting the right study environment, providing positive encouragement, and regularly observing the student will maximize parent's return on investment.
   
   
4. Regular communication between Parents and the Instructor is expected. As at school, the top performing Kumon students are supported by parents who routinely discuss their student's lesson plan, schedule and student-unique learning needs with the Instructor.
   
   
5. Kumon of Naperville - South uses a classroom approach for instruction. Student independence and self-learning are core principles of the Kumon Method of Learning which involves individualized study, not one-on-one tutoring.
   
   
6. Policies pertaining to monthly tuition payments, parent expectations, student behavior and other matters are provided during Orientation.
