LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING TO PARENTS
1. I understand that through the Kumon Method, students gain ownership of the learning process, the confidence to set progressively higher goals, and the ability to perform beyond expectations.
2. I understand that my child’s success is directly linked to my participation in the daily assignments at home and that I will grade my child’s work daily (with the assistance of Kumon’s answer books) so that he/she/they can make their corrections daily.
3. I understand that I will make arrangements to drop off finished work and pick up new assignments if my child is unable to attend class.
4. I understand that it can take 9-18 months for a typical student to reach grade level. For some, it may take longer, and for some, it may require less time. I agree to have my child enrolled for a minimum of 6 months so they can see, first hand, how the Kumon Program has impacted their academic development.
5. I understand that in order to provide the most conducive learning environment for my child and all children, no parents are allowed in the class during class hours. I also know that I may communicate with the center’s Instructor outside of classroom time via email, phone or scheduled conference.
6. I understand that repetition of the worksheets is a part of the Kumon Method and that my child will repeat worksheets from time to time.
7. I understand that as a parent, I am expected to grade my child’s Kumon homework, so that he or she can receive the maximum benefit of the program.
8. I understand that Kumon is a comprehensive, long-term learning program and that our family is making the time commitment necessary (at least 6 months) so that our child/children can become advanced learners. Should we decide to withdraw, a minimum ONE MONTH notice is required to stop payment. And if we give notice in the middle of the month, the FOLLOWING month will be my child’s last month and the initial deposit will be applied toward the last month. No tuition for any reason is refundable. Tuition is non-transferable.
