KUMON MATH & READING CENTER OF NORTH CANTON PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS
STUDENTS: Please be quiet at all times and do not disturb others. When you arrive at class, get your folder and go to a front seat.
a. Put your Kumon bag in the corner of the desk.
b. Put finished homework in your record book.
c. Take out your class work and put it on your bag to do.
d. Put new homework in your Kumon carrying bag to go home.
e. Put the record book an plastic folder in the homework bin for math and/or reading.
f. Do your corrections first (if any) and turn them in to be graded.
g. PREVIEW your classwork. Put your name on each page as you look over the work and read the directions and place it under the previous pages.
h. Put your starting time on the dated page. Do your classwork. Put your ending time. Get it graded and corrected (if needed) and get your stickers.
i. Take your record book and work to Dr. John.
****** If you miss a day, begin the next day with the previous day’s work. Bring all incomplete work back to the Center.
PARENTS:
CENTER DAYS AND HOURS: Mondays and Thursdays from 2:00pm – 6:30pm. Please try to arrive between these hours. After 6:30pm, you can exchange the work with us.
CENTER CLOSINGS: The Center will be closed during Spring Break, Christmas Week, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. You will receive work during these closed days except on the holiday itself.
The Center is open on all other holidays (Martin Luther King’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Veterans’ Day and Columbus Day.)
CENTER RULES:
No food or drinks are allowed in the Center or parent waiting room – except during Center parties.
The dress code acceptable at school will prevail at the Center.
Caution your children not to run or play around the building for safety purposes.
The bathroom is for everyone. Please see that it is kept clean. Parents of young children will need to be accompanied. Notify me immediately if there is a problem.
VACATIONS: Please let me know one week before the time of absence so I can prepare the worksheets before your child comes to the last class. Notice of absence forms are in the parent’s waiting room. Tuition is paid monthly and not prorated for absences.
MISSED LESSONS: It is important to keep the daily habit of Kumon study going. If you miss class ,you can pick up your student’s worksheets from the Kumon worksheet box outside the Center located on the corner column. Take the new assignments, and put the completed homework in the plastic bag back in the box. If it is not picked up, we will automatically re-date the work.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: We don’t go by the school closings. Classes will be canceled only when there is dangerous weather during regular class hours. In this case of cancellation, please turn in and pick up the work at the Center the next day (Tues. or Fri.) during regular class hours (3:00pm – 6:30pm).
TUITION: Enrollment fee is $50.00 plus $30.00 materials fee per child. Tuition is $125.00 per month, per subject. Additional subjects are $100.00. Tuition envelopes with a newsletter will be placed in the student’s folder around the 15th of the month to ensure prompt payment by the 25th of the month for the next month. REFERALS: Kumon information is in the parent’s waiting room, or you can ask me for a folder with the information. You will receive $25.00 of your next month’s tuition for every student you refer who enrolls.
ANSWER BOOKS: Answer books will be provided at Level B in math and Level 2A in reading upon request of the parent. Please take care of them so that you will not have to be charged for them.
