About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center of Paramus- North. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide.

We at the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Paramus - North have been helping children to strive for excellence, develop the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own since 2012. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, our program is the perfect after school program for your kid(s) to develop a love of learning.

The best part of the Kumon Program is that children start from concrete concepts (what they already know) and then gradually move to abstract concepts (what they should be aware of.) Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. Learn more information about the Kumon Math Program.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. Learn more information about the Kumon Reading Program.

Policies

CENTER CALENDAR:

Kumon is a year-round program. Although we do observe some national holidays, specific dates of center closings will be communicated through emails and posted in the parent parent waiting area. Kumon homework is assigned 365 days a year unless an adjustment is requested. Parents may request weekends or vacations homework in advance through emails or calls.

CLASS DAYS AND TIMINGS:

The class timings are mentioned on the home page of our website. We highly recommend that one subject students arrive no later than 6:30pm and two subject students arrive no later than 6:00pm.

For every class, students should carry their Kumon bag with the materials like pencils and erasers required to do their class work.

CLASS ATTENDANCE:

Class Attendance is a vital part of the Kumon Program. If a student is unable to attend class, please call or email the center by 2:00pm on or before the day of the class. This will allow us to make adjustments to the student's plan and to prepare the homework to be picked up. Work for the absent student will be left outside in the Kumon bin and we request the parents to collect at their own convenience.

ABSENT POLICY:

One month break is allowed per calendar year. More than one month absence will result in discontinuation from the Kumon Program.
