About Your Instructor

Maame Stephens

In June 2019, I took over the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Charlotte Prosperity Church Road after having successfully completed the Kumon Instructor Certification Program. My educational background includes an MBA in Finance, with a Bachelor's in Banking & Finance. My 15 years in Corporate and Investment banking for has allowed me to sharpen my analytical thinking skills and communication skills. However, my true passion has always been education.

After seeing the positive impact that the Kumon Program had on my three boys, yes three boys, I became inspired to become a Kumon Instructor.

As a Kumon Instructor, I strive to assist your child in becoming an independent learner. I aim to bring out the best in each of my students. It is my hope that each of my students will gain a strong foundation in math and reading, gain confidence, and gain work skills that will follow them throughout life.

How Does the Assessment Work?

Your free assessment helps us understand your child’s current learning level so we can recommend the best starting point. During the assessment, your child will complete a placement test, and the instructor will review the results with you and explain how the Kumon Program can support your child’s individual learning needs.

There is no obligation to enroll, and you can reschedule your appointment at any time.
