Kumon Instructor, Shefali Patel understands the importance of a strong academic foundation and is ready to help your children reach their full potential. She has been helping students of all ages and abilities reach their academic goals since 1990 when she owned and managed Vijay Computer Academy – a govt. accredited computer training school in India.  Her strength in academics enabled her to start her own business and support her family after her father’s untimely death.

In 1998, Shefali received the “Best Woman Entrepreneur Award” from her state for her success in growing her business.

After moving to the US with her husband, Shefali realized that the Kumon program could help her new community while fulfilling her passion for teaching. Kumon’s individualized method helps students build confidence while learning independently at their own pace. She opened Kumon of Richmond-Pecan Grove in 2009 and since then has helped hundreds of families develop a solid academic foundation and achieve academic success through the Kumon Method.
Shefali earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics from Gujarat University as well as a master’s degree in computer software.
