In-Person Classes During the Pandemic
The Kumon Center of Roseville is following all the necessary safety protocols to make sure that your visit to the center is safe. In-person classes are by appointment only. Masks are required for entrance into the center. The lobby and bathroom are closed for everyone's safety. We respectfully ask that parents wait outside or in their vehicle while their child(ren) is/are attending class.
We take the temperature of each student that enters the center. Anyone with a fever will not be able to attend class and will be sent home. The classroom doors remain opening for better circulation. Social distancing is being followed at the center. Students are seated at every other table with only one student per table. For early learners and new students who work with an assistant (and main classroom students who need help), there is a plexi-glass barrier between the student and assistant.
Students are required to bring their own pencils and erasers. All surfaces are disinfected after each use. At the end of the class night, we purify the air with an ozone generator. For those who are not comfortable with in-person classes, we have virtual classes available.
Tuition Due Date
Tuition is due the 1st of the month via EFT. There will be an automatic $10 late fee added to all late payments. Worksheets will also be withheld until past due payments are made. Please pay on time to avoid a late fee.
Insufficient Funds Fee
Bounced checks or insufficient funds via EFT will be assessed a $25 bank fee which will be added to the tuition owed.
Communication
Class time is reserved for instruction and observation. During class, please direct all questions to the check-in assistant and/or fill out a communication form. You can also call and leave a message, leave a comment on your child's worksheet record, email the instructor, or schedule a phone conference. Class time is the only time the instructor gets to observe and assist the students. Please be respectful of the students' time with the instructor.
Homework Pick-Up
If your child cannot make it to class, we encourage you to pick up the homework during class hours. If you are unable to make it to the center during class hours, please email the center by 7 PM class night for homework pick up the next day.
Worksheet Request for an Expected Absence
Please notify the instructor 1 week in advance of the pick-up date (2 weeks before the student's expected absence) when you need extra worksheets because of an expected absence from the Kumon Center. Use the Advance Notice of Absences form and submit it a week before the pick up date. Students almost invariably lose momentum and regress with periods of a week or more of not doing daily practice. It is advisable to take work with you on vacations and have them do it daily.
Changing EFT Account
If you are changing your EFT account number, please let us know a month before you want the changes to take place.
Absence
Kumon allows one month absence per calendar year before the student is dropped from enrollment. Absences over one month in a calendar year require re-enrollment with the associated registration/materials fee.
Cancellation Policy
One month (30 days) advance written notice is due on the 1st of the current month to discontinue Kumon the following month. Failure to give notice by the 1st of the current month will result in enrollment for the following month and termination occurring the month after. No exceptions. Please fill out the "One Calendar Month (30 Days) Advance Notice of EFT/Enrollment Changes" form and submit your notice on time. Paid tuition is non-refundable.
Cancellation submitted days 1st - 5th of the month: Termination/changes occur next month.
Cancellation submitted days 6th - 31st of the month: Enrolled next month, termination/changes occur the month after.
Center Closing
The center will be closed during major holidays as posted in the parent waiting area. It will also be announced on the website, by automatic email, and on the phone voice message. In case of severe weather, the center will follow the closing policy of the St. Paul public schools. This will be announced on our phone voice message, automatic email, as well as on the website under center updates by 2 PM.
