About Your Instructor
Hello! I'm Alexandra Bosoc, Center Director and Instructor of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Royal Oak.
My passion for Kumon began long before I became an instructor. As a child, Romanian was my first language, and I struggled to learn to read in English. Like many parents considering Kumon today, my family wanted to find a program that would not only help me catch up but also give me the confidence to succeed. They enrolled me in Kumon, and it completely changed the way I learned.
Through consistent practice and encouragement, I became a stronger, more confident reader. More importantly, I developed the independence, perseverance, and study habits that have stayed with me throughout my education and career. Experiencing the Kumon Method firsthand showed me just how powerful it can be, and that experience inspired me to one day help other children discover that same confidence in themselves.
After earning my degrees in Education, I gained experience in a variety of educational settings, serving as a teacher assistant in Bloomfield Hills, teaching second grade in Pontiac, and working with preschool students in Birmingham. Each role strengthened my belief that every child has the ability to succeed when given individualized instruction, consistent encouragement, and the opportunity to progress at the right pace.
Today, as a certified Kumon Instructor, I personally develop each student's individualized lesson plan and carefully monitor progress to ensure the program continues to meet their unique needs and goals. I believe parents are essential partners in their child's education, and I value building strong relationships through open communication and collaboration.
What I love most about Kumon is that it develops much more than math and reading skills. It teaches students how to think independently, persevere through challenges, and take ownership of their learning. Watching children grow from uncertain learners into confident, capable students is the most rewarding part of my work.
