About Your Instructor
Lynette Forero
Ms. Forero graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin and is certified by the State of Texas, to teach all sciences in the 6th-12th grades. Her experience began in Laredo, Texas where she taught middle school science for two years. In 1990, she moved to New Orleans, LA, where she worked as a research associate for The Endocrine Polypeptide and Cancer Institute of Tulane University. In 1992, she moved to Hershey, PA to join the staff of Penn State University, where she worked as a research associate for the division of cardiology. In 1995, Ms. Forero moved to San Antonio, where she joined the staff of St. Martin’s Hall, where she taught math and science for two years. Ms. Forero also has extensive experience volunteering at schools. She has held the positions of Chairman of the Mentoring Program and Chairman of the Science Laboratory Program for Northwood Elementary School and Vice President of the PTA for the Winston School San Antonio. Ms. Forero's love of research and education merged when she joined the team of Health Educators at The University of Texas Health and Science Center. Here she helped develop a curriculum that focused on positive youth development and adolescent health. This love of creating and learning from students led her to start her next adventure as a Kumon Instructor. She finds working with students and addressing each students different educational needs very rewarding. Her ability to instill confidence and a love of learning in all of her students is second nature to this instructor.
