About Your Instructor
Eunjoung (EJ) Cho
Center Director & Instructor - EJ Cho
As an instructor, my role is to discover each student’s level of academic ability and continuously provide them with worksheets that are suitable for their respective ability levels. I strive to ensure that students always experience a sense of achievement in their daily study. This allows them to stay motivated and increase their ability to work independently.
Prior to becoming a Kumon Instructor, I spent nearly a decade working for various nonprofit organizations in the DC area including a museum, theater, university and human rights agency. I have always been passionate about transforming lives and took tremendous joy in my nonprofit work. After becoming a mother of two lovely girls, I now understand the enormous potential of each child. I became increasingly interested in transforming lives through education.
I first experienced Kumon as a child; it helped not only improve my math and reading skills but also build academic confidence. While in graduate school, I worked as an assistant at a Kumon Center for several years and truly came to believe in the value and benefits of the Kumon Program. Combining this belief with my experience and passion for education, I was extremely attracted to the role of a Kumon Instructor and was willing to go through the rigorous training program to become a certified instructor. I take delight in working with my students each day and helping them unlock their full potential.
