About Your Instructor
Steven Cho
Hello! My name is Steven Cho, but everyone calls me Stove. I am an instructor at the Kumon Wake Forest - Prestwicke location.
Kumon has been apart of my life since I've been in Kindergarten. I completed the Math and Reading program by 8th grade. My mom also has a Kumon center and once I got into high school, I was her assistant through high school and college. I went to Indiana University where I got my Bachelor's in Mathematics and went to Ball State University to get my Master's in Actuarial Science. I was also a Teacher's Assistant while in grad school.
Shortly after I graduated, I got a job as a Statistical Analyst for a pension company. After a year of working there, I pursued a job in the creative field where I went on to do Youtube full time for 5 years. My channel name is Stove's Kitchen and it is a family friendly channel that has gained over 1 million subscribers.
After about 5 years I shifted my focus on helping my community and owning a business that would impact peoples' lives positively.
This is when I found an opportunity to open up a Kumon Center in Wake Forest. It all came full circle with Kumon where I could apply what I learned from the program, use my experience with teaching students at my mom's center and during college, and utilize what I learned during my Youtube career working with kids.
I am a very strong believer in the Kumon Program because I went through it myself and I learned to be a self learner, think independently and most importantly be confident with myself to carry me through life.
I have opened up this Kumon Center to help kids of all ages to gain the confidence and skills needed to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.
If you have any questions about the program or myself, don't hesitate to reach out to me!
