About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center. For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program.

Policies

Attendance Policies:

Daily study is an important part of the Kumon program and class attendance is vital. Observing students in class greatly assists in the planning process for each student and allows our Kumon instructor to introduce new concepts in a face-to-face setting. If a student is unable to attend class, please call the center by 2:00 PM on the day of the class to allow us time to make adjustments and prepare the work to be picked up. Work for absent students will be available outside for pickup in the Kumon mailbox.

Absence Policies:

Students who do not take Kumon materials in a given month but plan to resume their Kumon study within a month, are considered ‘absent.’ However, if a student is absent for more than one month, he/she is considered ‘discontinued,’ and if Kumon study is resumed, a registration fee will be charged and the student will be retested.

Parent-Center Communication:

Regular Kumon information will be sent to parents through the child’s homework bag. Progress reports can also be sent upon request, and after successful completion of a level Achievement Test, we will share with you your child's results. You also may request a conference during any non-class hour.

Please feel free to contact the instructor at any time regarding questions or concerns about workload or assignments.
