About Your Instructor
Ann Chantakasem
My passion for education began back in college when I worked as an assistant to an instructor at a learning center. That experience made a lasting impression on me—it was incredibly rewarding to help students gain confidence and reach their goals. I went on to earn my Bachelor’s Degree from Cal Poly Pomona and my MBA from Pepperdine University. Over the years, I’ve led and managed teams at several well-known national brands and large retailers, and I’ve also been a business owner and owned a small consulting company. These experiences taught me the value of leadership, mentorship, and perseverance—qualities I now bring into my work with Kumon students every day. Even as my career led me through the business world, I always knew I wanted to return to education and make that kind of positive impact again.
My connection to Kumon began through my nephew, who was a Kumon student. I saw how the program helped him not only excel academically but also grow in confidence, discipline, and problem-solving skills. That transformation inspired me to open Kumon of Azusa, where I strive to help children build those same lifelong skills.
At my center, I combine my love for teaching with my leadership experience to help every student become a confident, independent learner. I truly believe that with the right support and encouragement, every child can achieve their full potential—both in school and in life.
