About Your Instructor
Tianying (Maggie) Zhu
Hello, my name is Tianying (Maggie) Zhu. As a certified Kumon Instructor, my goal is to help every child develop strong academic foundations and to bring out the potential in every child.
I guide students through their daily Kumon work with consistent encouragement and support, while placing a strong emphasis on building solid math and reading skills and helping them develop focus, perseverance, and responsibility. I work closely with parents and guardians and communicate regularly about each child’s progress, challenges, and learning goals.
Before opening my Kumon center, I earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Pharmaceutical Science and spent many years working in the industry. Alongside my professional career, I have also embraced another lifelong and deeply meaningful role — being a parent. As the mother of a high school student and a middle school student, I have gained extensive experience supporting my children both academically through key learning milestones and emotionally through the joys and challenges of growing up.
I am also a Kumon parent. Through my family’s experience with the Kumon program, I have seen how Kumon supports not only academic growth, but also the development of strong study habits, independence, and confidence.
By combining the proven structure of the Kumon Method with my passion for education, I am committed to helping each child develop strong math and reading skills, while also fostering independence, perseverance, and confidence that will benefit them for life.
