The Kumon Math and Reading after-school academic enrichment program has been helping students achieve success across the globe. Our Kumon Center has been striving for the same success since 2012 in the Burr Ridge and surrounding communities . We are proud to say that our growth is primarily due to referrals from our satisfied families. We are confident that your child will also benefit from learning with us. We have served many students of all abilities, successfully meeting their math and reading needs. We aim to motivate each of our students to perform at their highest potential. The instructor and staff help to instill in students the desire to achieve more, a love of learning, and the motivation to learn on their own.
We believe that every child is born with innate capacity to learn, and our mission is to provide all children the learning tools to build sound life skills to become an informed learner.
The Kumon Program
Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.
The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

This program requires commitment by parents and students, and is a prerequisite for enrollment into the program. 100% attendance and homework completion are the keys to success in the program. Students are expected to attend class regularly. Students spending time in class with our staff allows us to assess their progress, guide them in understanding new concepts, motivate them towards self-learning as well as prepare appropriate homework for them.
An important aspect of the program is to help our students develop and maintain a good daily study habit towards self-learning.
Establishing a homework time at home is a key to success in this program. Students are expected to complete 10-20 minutes of math and/or reading homework each day. Parents need to grade homework (answer keys are provided) and make sure errors are corrected to 100% before returning them to the center. Students must return all their homework each time they come to class and exchange the completed homework for new homework each week. Home record sheets are provided with each week’s homework exchange. Parents are expected to stay on top of the homework assignment, and grade and record the scores on the record sheet provided.
- The office should be notified of any absences. Leave a message of the absence at (630) 956-0456 or email us at [email protected] In case of absences, parents need to make arrangements to pick up the homework from the center.
- During vacations students are encouraged to continue their daily study habit. The amount of work can be adjusted.
- Please notify the center at least one week in advance of the absences using the notice of absence form available at the center.
The center will be closed during major holidays as posted in the parent waiting area. It will also be announced on our web site calendar.
In case of severe weather, the center will follow the closing policy of the Burridge public schools, and this will be announced on our phone message system. Homework can be picked up on the following day.
