Hello Kumon Families,
I'm excited to let you know we are reopening the center for classes this coming Monday, May 11th! After receiving feedback from many of you, it is clear that it is time to bring the students back to class.
However, we will have to make adjustments to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the state and county.
This is how we can make it work:
CLASS DAYS: Mondays and Thursdays
CLASS HOURS: 1:00 PM to 7:00PM
BLOCKS PER CLASS: 6 blocks per class (each block is 1 hr. starting on the hour)
STUDENTS PER BLOCK: Up to 6 students per block
REQUIRED CLASS SIGN UP: I'll send a sign up form every Friday for families to pick blocks for the following week.
CENTER FLOW: When students come in they will go directly to the bathroom to wash their hands, then pick up their plastic folders and start the class. They will be sitting at least 6 feet apart. Students are required to bring their own pencil and eraser. If the student forgets the pencil, I will give the student a new pencil that the student will keep. We will disinfect tables after each block and use.
MY EXPECTATIONS: To allow the students to finish their class assignments, the students need to come in at the time they signed up for and leave before the new block begins. Parents will wait outside as we have to respect the state order of no more than 10 people in the space. I expect timely drop off and pick up of the students. Students will not be allowed to wait in the lobby if we have already started the next block hour.
**All graders, including myself, will be wearing masks. If your student has a mask, it is highly recommended to have them wear it, but not mandatory.
**For the few families that still do not feel comfortable sending your student to the center, I will have 1 day (Tuesdays) available for Zoom lessons. Contact me directly to schedule the time.
