Center Updates

CONGRATULATIONS to all the students and parents of Carmel West Kumon Center!

On Saturday, April 28th, 2018, Carmel West Kumon Center held its annual Carmel West Kumon Center Awards Ceremony at Charlotte Latin School Thies Auditorium with over 500 attendees. Carmel West Kumon Center holds an awards ceremony for its students every year to honor their achievements.

The ceremony began with a student presentation given by Romeer Dhillon. Romeer has been enrolled in both Math and Reading program since March 2011 and this year achieved the special award, J by 6, and platinum. Romeer is currently a 5th grader and is completing 10th-grade level Math and Reading work at Carmel West Kumon Center. During the presentation, Romeer shared his secret recipe for success. He stated that by doing his Kumon, his school work becomes so much easier for him that he is able to accomplish so much more with his time. In addition, Romeer is involved in a multitude of activities such as competitive swimming, black belt Tae Kwon Do, and 5K run. Romeer has competed on the state, national, and international level with his Robotics team. This highly-motivated young man is striving to complete both Math and Reading programs.
Go Romeer!

Next, the owner and instructor of Carmel West Kumon Center, Mr. Peyton Ding, gave his annual presentation. This year, he shared the importance of setting goals and how to achieve them with his unique approach of "climbing to reach the summit." These tools are used every day at the Carmel West Kumon Center to help students learn and achieve their goals. He also talked about Kumon's unique method of learning and the Kumon Parents' role in this program to enable success in their children's academic education. Thank you Mr. Peyton!

Finally, the awards were presented to the Carmel West Kumon Center students for platinum (students studying three years or more above Kumon International Standard), gold (students studying two years above the Kumon International Standard), silver (students studying 6 months or more above Kumon International Standard), bronze (students achieving Kumon International Standard), and commitment (students striving to advance their Kumon studies) awards.

What a great achievement, students! Commit, work hard, and NEVER GIVE UP! Parents NEVER GIVE IN!

How to Enroll Your Child

Step 1
Call the center or click the "Schedule an Appointment" link above, to schedule a free Parent Orientation and Placement Test for your child.
Step 2
Attend the Parent Orientation, and have your child take the placement test. Meet with your instructor to learn about Kumon’s individualized learning method, and review the results from your child’s placement test.
Step 3
Review your child’s progress goal plan. Based on your child’s placement test results, the instructor will create a two-year academic plan to help your child reach his or her goals.
Step 4
Enroll your child. Students will attend the center twice a week, and complete daily assignments at home. Your instructor will design an individualized lesson plan for your child that will be monitored, and changed as needed to be sure he or she is on track to reach his or her goals.
Step 5
Schedule your 30-day post-enrollment meeting. Your instructor will set a date to meet with your family after 30 days of enrollment to evaluate your child’s performance and ensure the program is going smoothly.
