About Your Instructor
Nikita Dewantoro
Hi, I’m Nikita — owner and director of this Kumon center. My path here wasn’t a straight line, it started in a research lab, not a classroom.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida, then went on to work alongside a neurosurgeon conducting pediatric epilepsy research. That experience gave me a front-row seat to how children’s brains grow, adapt, and sometimes struggle — and it sparked a deep respect for the science of learning itself. Along the way, I found myself drawn just as much to how a business runs as how a brain does, so I pursued my MBA at Rollins College here in Orlando. While I was in the thick of my graduate studies, I kept one foot in education, privately tutoring high school students in SAT prep, biology, and chemistry — work I loved because I got to watch students go from anxious to confident, one concept at a time.
That combination — a scientific foundation, real experience with pediatric development, business training, and years of hands-on tutoring — is what I bring to every family who walks through our doors. I built this center from the ground up, and I run it with the same rigor I brought to research and the same care I bring to every student I’ve tutored. My goal isn’t just to help your child get through their worksheets; it’s to build the kind of confidence and capability that follows them well beyond this classroom.
