About Your Instructor
Jothilakshmi Balakrishnan
I am a M.Sc., M.Phil., and B.Ed graduate with a passion for teaching and come from a teaching family. My father, who taught at the elementary school, is the source of inspiration for me.
After completing my education, I worked as a middle school teacher in India. After getting married, my husband and I travelled to the USA. My happiness has increased due to being able to pursue my teaching passion in the USA.
My older son finished the Kumon program in 6th grade, and I am personally impressed with the confidence he gained from the program. He is a senior in high school now, and I can see the benefits of how it has helped him to be independent and take ownership not only at school but also in our daily life.
My Kumon Journey started with him in 2011 as a Kumon Parent, Now I am happy to say that I am a Kumon instructor. Working with young minds is something I enjoy as a Kumon instructor. By sharing my learning with your child, I can contribute to their success as self-learners and self-reliant leaders.
My other passions include art, cooking, traveling and spending time with my family.
