About Your Instructor
Saravana Raman
Hi! My name is Raman and I am the Kumon instructor for the Corona Serfas Club Location. I have a Math and Engineering background and earned my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Biomedical Engineering from Claremont Graduate University and California State University Long Beach.
I have 15 years experience in post-secondary education and was running after-school math programs for 5 years. During my tenure with post-secondary education, I served in various roles including supplemental instructor, Faculty member, Trainer, Department head and Academic Dean. I received the “Teaching Excellence Award” from California State University Long Beach in 2004.
Before I became a Kumon Instructor, I was a Kumon parent for 3 years. I saw my own daughter develop a love of learning, as well as discipline, accuracy and focus through the Kumon method. With all the great benefits this program has given to my children, I want to share the opportunity with other parents and improve the community by increasing the children’s academic ability.
With the Kumon method, I am able to provide individualized instruction tailored to your child’s ability. My goal is to make our children be able to cultivate the ability to independently learn what they want to learn without always needing to be taught. I believe learning needs to be fun and not stressful. I hope to be apart of your children’s educational journey.
