The Kumon Math and Reading Center of Croton-on-Hudson has been a trusted center of learning since June of 2000. From the very beginning, our staff has been devoted to helping the students in our community to strengthen their skills in math and reading, build confidence, and develop the self-motivational techniques that will serve them throughout their lives. With over 15 years of experience applying the Kumon approach to teaching and learning, we have helped thousands of students from area schools such as St. Augustine, Buchanan Verplanck Elementary, Frank G. Lindsey Elementary, Furnace Woods Elementary, Blue Mountain Middle School, Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary, Pierre Van Cortlandt Middle School, as well as the Peekskill, and Chappaqua school districts build a foundation for success.

Here's how we do it:

At Kumon of Croton-on-Hudson, we eschew the passive, often boring learning experience that children endure in a lecture environment. Instead, we use the Kumon Method, which has been perfected over 50 years, and is taught to over 4 million students worldwide. Our materials are designed to encourage self-teaching and to promote the mastery of skills through consistent, targeted practice. With the guidance of our caring and patient staff and Instructor, students develop core academic skills by working out graduated, skills-building exercises, and develop a strong sense of self-sufficiency that keeps them motivated to tackle new challenges. And while we believe that practice makes perfect, this isn't a cookie-cutter curriculum:  Mrs. Moon customizes each student's learning program to address his or her areas of opportunity, so that all of our students can grow and learn at a pace that fosters confidence and ensures mastery.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.
