About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to the Kumon Math and Reading Center of East Hanover! We opened our center in June of 2012 and have been serving the communities of East Hanover and the surrounding areas ever since. Kumon of East Hanover provides education programs for children ages three to eighteen and employment opportunities for adults and young adults, including high achieving high school and college students.

For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.

Our center is located at 478 Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover, directly across the street from East Hanover Middle School.

**Please note that our center has limited parking in the front.  The main parking area is behind the center and the entrance to the center is on the side of the building on Garden Street.

Price and Fees

Monthly Tuition Payment
$175 per month for one subject per student
$340 per month for both subjects per student

The initial one-time Registration fee is $50. In addition, there is a $30 one-time Materials fee. The Center has two forms of payment only. Our preferred method of payment is Electronic Fund Transfer. For your convenience, tuition is collected monthly using EFT which automatically deducts the payment from your checking, money market or savings account. The other option for payment is credit and debit card, a $5 convenience fee will be added each month for credit/debit cards. We do not accept cash or check.

Tuition payment is due on the 5th of the month and is non-refundable. If tuition payment is not submitted by the 5th of the month, or if your automatic monthly transaction is declined then a late fee of $25 will be added to the tuition due that month.

Tuition is pro-rated for the first month only. Full tuition is charged for subsequent months until 30 days written notice is given to terminate enrollment or transfer out of the program. Notice received up to and including the 5th of the month will be applied that calendar month, making that month the last month of enrollment. Notices received on or after the 6th of the month will result in the following calendar month being the last month of enrollment. Failure to receive such notice will result in continued charges to your account. Your account will remain open and active until written notice is received. Your account will be closed 30 days after we receive your notice to terminate.

Policies

There is no minimal period of enrollment however, a 30 day written notice is required to discontinue the program.

Tuition is payable by EFT (bank account) or credit card, we do not accept cash or check payment.

All students are given their classroom supplies including pencil, eraser and sharpener when initially joining the center.  We do require our students to bring these supplies (or others they wish to use) to class for each session.  Being prepared for class is very important and sets the student in the right frame of mind when they come to class.  Mechanical pencils are encouraged to avoid having to sharpen pencils in between working.  This also prevents a loss of focus during class time.

Kumon students do daily assignments that take up to 20 minutes per subject. Two days of assignments are conducted with us each week, allowing us to observe and guide the student. For our sessions with the students we are offering a hybrid model which incorporates one Zoom session and one in-person session at the center, we are also offering a full remote option where the student can attend two Zoom sessions if they are not yet ready to come to in-person class.  The other five days of assignments are completed at home under the guidance of parents and caregivers.  This daily progress towards the student's goal implements the 'practice makes perfect' formula and reaps very successful results!

Parent conferences are available all year round by appointment. We care about your child's progress and open communication is very important to us. Our preferred method of communication is over the phone at 862.701.5858.
