About Your Instructor
PRIYA GOVIND
I was born in Waco, Texas and moved to Edinburg in 1991. I graduated from Edinburg High School in 1997. Then I continued my education at the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg, Texas, graduating with a B.B.A. in Computer Information Systems in 2002. From July 2003 – September 2006, I was working for Texas State Bank as a Web Designer.
I first learned about the Kumon Program years ago through family and friends who had their children enrolled in the program. Over time, I noticed that the kids were improving in their school work, developing better study skills, and becoming more positive.
In 2007, I considered obtaining a teaching certification, but because I had become so intrigued with Kumon over the years and how it was helping children academically, I decided to research the program some more. Soon thereafter I began my training to become a Certified Kumon Instructor and opened this Center in September 2008.
Kumon is a real team effort. In order for the program to work, the student, parents and Instructor all have to work together. Please feel free to ask questions via phone, email, or in person, about any aspect of your child’s progress. During busy class days, I may ask if I can call or email you after class so that I can focus on the students in class and so that we can speak without interruption. I look forward to hearing from you!
