About the Center

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Center of El Dorado Hills - Francisco Village!

For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help our children develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. Click here for more information about the Kumon Math Program.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. Click here for more information about the Kumon Reading Program.

Price and Fees

Tuition/Payments:

Our monthly tuition rates are very reasonable and are provided to our families during parent orientation.

There is no charge for placement testing, and no extra charge to discuss the results of your child’s placement skills. We are significantly less expensive than private tutors and other tutoring programs which leave our students dependent on the tutors. Kumon is not a quick-fix program and develops a solid foundation in our students so that they can continue their education with confidence as self-learners.

One-time Payments:

Registration Fee per student is $80.00 (Registration Fee is one-time ONLY IF student enrollment is maintained by taking no more than 1 month of tuition free vacation in a calendar year).

Materials Fee per student is $30.00

Tuition discounts for siblings:

Tuition is collected via automatic bank Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). This process makes payment transactions more efficient for your family and for our Kumon Center. It also allows us to maintain financial records and history of your payments to avoid any confusion.

You can hold or stop your tuition EFTs with a 2-week notice, i.e., by the 15th of the current month, to be effective the following month. Tuition is due, in full, by the 5th of each month.

Tuition payments received after the 7th of each month will be charged a late fee of $25.00.

Policies

ATTENDANCE AND DAILY STUDY

Attend class on Mondays/Thursdays or Tuesdays/Fridays or Mondays/Fridays during appointed time.

  • Study on a daily basis- It is critical that Kumon work is done daily, and not all at once, after several skipped days. This is a crucial part of your child's success in the Kumon Program.

  • Return completed work as well as incomplete worksheets to the center, so that the instructor can evaluate and plan each student’s work in a timely manner. Such individualization is what sets Kumon apart from other curriculums.

  • Parents should encourage their children to study responsibly and consistently, and ensure that assignments are timed and completed.

  • Parents are strongly encouraged to home grade student’s work, if possible, as we feel strongly that daily feedback and correction of work helps students to progress more quickly and smoothly through the program. Please see the instructor for home grader training and answer books.

  • Parents should provide praise and positive reinforcement at home.

  • Please understand that Kumon is not tutoring and is not meant to be a “quick fix.” Becoming a better learner is an ongoing process that requires daily practice and disciplined study habits, as well as the continual acquisition of new skills and concepts.

  • Enrollment in Kumon is a long-term commitment.
